Smaller by design
Troop 58 was chartered in 2014 as an offshoot of longtime Troop 1158 — a deliberate split, in the spirit of Baden-Powell's own belief that a smaller troop serves its Scouts better than a large one. About 50 Scouts strong today, we're one of the more active troops in Loudoun County without losing the close-knit feel that started it.
Scouts elect their own Patrol Leaders, Senior Patrol Leader, and other youth leadership positions — many go on to National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). Adults coach from the sideline; the boys plan the program.

The Key 3
Every chartered troop is led by three people who share responsibility for the program, the charter, and the adults who volunteer.
Runs the weekly program alongside the Scouts' own elected leadership.
Leads the adult committee: budget, logistics, advancement, tour permits.
Connects the troop to St. David's Episcopal Church & School.
Scouting's highest rank
Troop 58 is tremendously proud of the young men who've exemplified the highest ideals of Scouting and earned its highest rank — Eagle Scout.
How to join
No experience required. Scouts learn by doing, alongside other Scouts and supported by trained adult volunteers.

Tuesdays, 7:30 PM, Founders Hall. No paperwork to visit — bring your Webelos-age Scout and see a real meeting in progress.
